Otter

Redesign and development of technical resources website for Central Saint Martins

Client Central Saint Martins — University of the Arts London

Otter is an internal website for students and staff at Central Saint Martins.

It provides information and resources on technical workshops and supporting staff using text, images, videos and 360 tours.

The website previously existed on a Drupal CMS. However, the Head of Technical & Teaching Resources brought me in to co-design a new system, allowing the content to be more easily managed and more scalable. The design had to closely follow the existing styling of the parent website.

Otter’s Technical Administration Coordinator (and project manager for this rebuild), Sirisa Clark, had an existing technical knowledge of WordPress, so it was an obvious choice for the CMS.

I worked with her closely to plan out the new information architecture and ensured that all the content and navigation could be managed with relative ease and with minimal training.

It has been a pleasure to work with Rob on developing our new website. From the start he has been very patient and helpful, firstly in helping me to tease out the specification of what we needed and refine my ideas, and also to help me learn about the technical aspects of building and maintaining a site of this nature.

Rob has fantastic attention to detail and thoroughness in his approach, which I greatly appreciate. His technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities have been invaluable in meeting any request or challenge I have put to him, and in delivering a site that meets our needs.

I hope to continue working with Rob in the future, and would recommend his services.
